Getting More Miles To the Gallon?

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

Received this humorous email from my sister this morning. And, although, we posted some REAL information for you already today (see our earlier post [below]), I just couldn’t resist.

We all need a few laughs right about now:

Pork Stuffed Bills And The Cycle of Democracy

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

In his book “Democracy in America”, Alexis DeTocqeville (circa 1848) had this to say: ” A Democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of Government. It can only exist until the voters discover they can vote themselves largesse (a liberal gift) out of public treasury. From that moment on the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that (more…)

SocialSpark Test Continues With Great Results We Make More Money

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

A while back (June 16th to be exact) we did a post about SocialSpark, a program for bloggers and a way for you to make money online. In addition, of course, SocialSpark is set up to take on advertisers needing promotions.

That reiterated, at the time I opted for an “opportunity” that paid us $5.50. If you remember, it was a promo for SocialSpark itself, and something I was going to write about anyway.

A Memory Walk With A Purpose

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

Saturdays and Sundays typically mean we get to stretch our legs and post things outside the fields of social media marketing.

Today is one of those days :)

Let’s face it, one of the most valuable things each of us has is our memories, be they great ones or one’s we’d rather not think about (even those serve a purpose to remind us what not to do in the future).

Alzheimer’s Memory Walk

But a devastating fact is that Alzheimer’s is a disease that strikes many, wiping all memories and impacting families.

The Alzheimer’s Association would like to make us all aware of the fact that raising awareness and money for research should be upper most in all of our minds.

The Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for research.

They are looking for volunteers of all ages to “become champions in the fight against Alzheimer’s.” With more than 600 walks in communities across the country, a typical walk is 2-3 miles. They hold these walks on weekend mornings in the fall.

You, too, can volunteer to “walk with a purpose” just click on the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk link featured above for more information.
