PayPal Tax Law Policies Changing In 2011
Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010There are new tax laws coming into effect for PayPal on the 1st of January 2011. Up until now, it has been the responsibility of all merchants – anyone selling anything and receiving money through PayPal – to accurately report their earnings.
Reporting to the IRS is now a “new feature” so to speak. Actually, it is a new law that PayPal must abide by. This new law states that anyone:
o Receiving more than $20K in gross payment volume in a single year AND
o Receiving 200 or more payments in that single year
will have that information reported from PayPal to the IRS.
