Internet IP Addresses Will World IPv6 Day Keep You Connected?

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

view of world map so many countries with internet ip addresses

Talk about the finite amount of bandwidth usage for the internet was the topic of the day a while back, but today the most pressing concern is the finite amount of internet ip addresses and the fact that the worldwide web is running out of them.

The History Behind Internet IP Addresses

Turns out that way back in 1976 when the Department of Defense (DoD) was busy connecting computers and creating what ultimately became the internet the rest of us use each day, they were sort of forced to put a number on just how many internet ip addresses the data network was going to need.

Sounding amazingly like a Bill Gates reverberation from the past about memory and RAM in an in-home computer, the DoD settled on 4.3 billion internet ip addresses as the magic number. Little did they know. After all, this whole network thing was “just an experiment” at the time.

Fast Forward 35 Years and the World is Running Out of Internet IP Addresses and How They Plan to Fix That Sticky Problem

Estimated to reach critical mass within the next year to year and a half, the scramble is on to ensure that Earth’s seven billion population doesn’t watch their internet ip addresses and connections go down in flames. Actually that’s a tad dramatic, the powers that be have been aware for quite some time now that there is this huge looming situation that must be dealt with as quickly and seamlessly as possible. HubPage Hubber Proof There’s Money In Publishing

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

This was Part 5 in a series HubPages has been sending us, and shows why we go on at such great lengths about how truly wonderful Hubpages is for online marketers of any business.

Testimonials and Advice From Current HubPages Users:

“Just to give you an idea, I’ve been with HubPages 4 ½ months, and I make an average of $10 a day from AdSense, plus a couple hundred every month from Ebay/Amazon… It’s been increasing steadily over the time I’ve been here, and I expect that to continue as I get more content up and published!”
- Maddie Ruud – One of Maddie’s Hubs: The Truth About Wu-Yi Tea

“Now I’m making a few hundred dollars per month for the things I enjoy doing. I know more people here are making thousands of dollars per month.”
- len7288 – One of len7288′s Hubs: Health Benefits of Cabbage

“If, like most people, you are on HubPages to share information and make a few dollars, be patient; you won’t find success overnight. Keep writing quality and original content and the money will follow. It took me three months before I got my first click on Google; I now receive a check every month.”
- jimmythejock – One of jimmythejock’s Hubs: World War 1 Trench Warfare

Do Social Bookmarking Sites Add Internet Value?

Monday, February 25th, 2008

Today’s post on social bookmarking can be found over at our favorite content sharing website, Hubpages.

Social Bookmarking: A Useless Tool or Clever Marketing Strategy?

After reading it, and we sincerely hope you will, please take a moment and share your thoughts, comments, input at both spots – hubpages and here below in our comment section.

Quick Reminder: One of the greatest benefits to social sharing sites like hubpages and our blog is your ability to voice your thoughts – and give yourself a nice link back to your own website :)

Knowledge, sharing, and marketing all in one fell swoop… it doesn’t get much better than that!

And as a P.S. of note, we’ve run across numerous excellent resources we’ll be sharing with you throughout the coming week(s). It’s amazing what you discover when you begin your journey around the (best) social communities on the net! In fact, we don’t even know where to begin having found “standalone” topics that do – in the long run – interrelate. Don’t worry though, we’ll figure it out :)

Again, we hope you enjoy our newest hub, please let us know (by voting and sharing on the hub itself and back here, too, everything counts as a marketing link for yourself!)

Google First Page Ranking Strategy Discussion

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

To continue our discussion of Hubpages, this morning while wandering the halls of Hubs, I came across this excellent How I got my hub to be on Google’s first page by Hubber Mark Knowles.

Now before you rush off and think this is going to be a walk in the park, it’s not. But, it’s also completely do-able if you’re willing to dedicate a good chunk of your time … this week even … to making it happen.

Mark’s hub goes into details on why someone would dedicate themselves to the task of creating not just a hubpage, but a flagship hub. Good insights as to why and how this will work for you.

You might also check out another favorite hubber of mine, Lissie. Lissie has created a “how to” flagship hub. Also, since this one is a “flagship” you’ll also benefit by visualizing what your own end result will look like. You can read her indepth information here: How To Write a Flagship Hub.

Just keep in mind that sometimes (not always but most times) it’s best to “start small” and build. You will be participating in a social media site that prides itself on community. Taking the time to hobnob and get to know others is always your best first approach. Grab the Hubpages Guide, read it, and put it into practice.

Remember most likely you’ve got plans to be around online for a long time to come, and most strategies take time. Social media is an excellent avenue to pursue, if you do it wisely.
