About

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

Diane Scott started out as the persona of two great friends living on opposite ends of the country. Diane currently calls Las Vegas home, while Scott lives in Baltimore.

While we both have spent the last decade(+) online (and offline) making our livings by analyzing and applying search engine optimization, traditional internet marketing, and social media strategies, as of August 2009, “Scott” is no longer part of OIMS – having decided to take his energies elsewhere – with well wishes to all his new endeavors!

So Diane Scott becomes a whole person – my alter ego so to speak – where “she/I” can let loose on any subject (just about). However, my main focus continues to be the testing, evaluation, and recommendation (or not) of methods to promote your website/blog and increase website traffic.

I do enjoy writing the occasional “get paid to” post – and try to pick out the ones I find most interesting and intriguing (and yes, the ones that pay well for doing so – if you’re a blogger you can/should/could, too).

Well that about brings you up to date as of September 2009.

Be sure to visit my ezine advertising co-op, My Wizard Ads, along with the Whole Hog Blog blogging system I also own and operate. Then stop on by ImWebNiches for an A to Z search portal on all sorts of subjects.

I hope you enjoy your visit not only to Online Internet Marketing Strategies, but all the other websites and blogs, too.

All the best,
Diane Scott
(and would it be aka Theresa Cahill? Or the other way around LOL!)

The Sound of Sweet Marketing Music

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

Today, while reading my horoscope in a really oddball local magazine, I was struck by how much this particular one makes sense. Here’s what it said:

“The composer Stravinsky had written a new piece with a difficult violin passage,” writes Thomas Powers, quoted in the book Sunbeams. “After it had been in rehearsal several weeks, the solo violinist came to Stravinsky and said he was sorry, he had tried his best, the passage was too difficult, no violinist could play it. Stravinsky said, ‘I understand that. What I am after is the sound of someone trying to play it!’”

It goes on to inform me to keep this message close to the heart in the coming week in order to have “the proper perspective as you go about the work of doing the best you can, at a task that is virtually impossible to perfect.”

Now doesn’t that sound exactly like internet marketing?!

We each do our very best with the methodology at hand, but never do any of us truly “perfect the art” because the art of being online is so fluid.

However, it’s not in the getting it perfect where we succeed, it is in the trying and applying where we shine.

We’ve known our share of online entrepreneurs who take a direct course of action and willingly try their hand at all new proposals (or revisit “old” ones to fine tune them). Conversely, we’re also familiar with some would-be online business people who seem too shy to get out there and give it a go.

Maybe what holds some back is that feeling of “I won’t get it right.” There is no getting it wrong (other than blatant spamming of course). The beauty is in the doing!

Keep this message in mind as you go about your week (each week!) and put yourself out there! Meet other people in the social communities, write that article you’ve been putting off and post it in Hubpages and article directories! You can do it!

Here’s to sweet music to you in all your endeavors!

How To Learn More About Web 2.0 Then You Thought Possible

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

This is a deviation from our usual posts only because we deemed it a positive program to share with you, AND you’ll need to take action BEFORE MARCH 13TH.

I-Marketing-Strategies

If you’re blogging, you might think you know all about web 2.0 marketing techniques. If you’re socializing in communities, you might also feel you know it all.

We never assume anything – for ourselves that is – and feel neither should you.

With that idea in mind, that there really are tons of ways to use Web 2.0 technology to further your online marketing endeavors, you’ll want to be sure to get on the list for immediate notification of this launching resource.

Can’t tell you the name of it yet – you know how hush-hush people like to keep these things – but we’re prepared to bet that you will be very pleased to have the chance to review and decide for yourself this coming Thursday.

If you don’t need to increase traffic, find out everything there is to know about using free traffic sources, and don’t need any more money this year, this isn’t for you :)

However, even if you’re on the web for mere altruistic reasons, we’re sure you’d want to learn all about how to increase the visibility of your website or blog :)

Put your name down here, you’re under no obligation:

And we’ll let you know just as soon as the doors open!
