Are You A Real News Hound?

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

I’d like to call your attention to a news website (the banner has been in my sidebar for a few months now) that anyone who fancies him or herself to be a TRUE news fanatic should explore. The WorldNewsVine is strong and growing even more so minute by minute.

The WNV is (for now) actively seeking bloggers who are:

o  Already familiar with Wordpress in an MU setting
o  Competent writers who will properly classify and tag their reporting, and
o  Ready and able to actively participate on an already-recognized, yet young-enough-to-grow-with, news website.

Obviously they are seeking individuals who “report the news as they see it.” Regionally, locally, throughout the globe. Above all, professional. Now by professional, I mean:

o  You need to know the difference between fact and fiction
o  Be willing to research what you write, and
o  If you’re so inclined, receive true Press Credentials – an honest to goodness press kit.

With full press access, you’ll be able to report on local meetings, State or Province happenings, get interviews, etc.

So if your thing is, or has always been, to be a REAL reporter, check into joining the team at  WorldNewsVine.

New Service On It’s Way

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Sometimes you just can’t help repeating yourself, so this post is for anyone who hasn’t read the most recent on the My Wizard Ads.

While most of my last decade has been spent in ezine advertising, online marketing, link building, and helping new bloggers, it’s always exciting to come across something “new.” Now I’m not making any promises, but I personally know the people developing a service I’m really looking forward to incorporating onto the MWA website.

Still hammering out the final details, then it’s testing time! So cross your fingers because this sounds extremely promising!

More soon!

Get Paid to Drop Drives Traffic

Monday, January 25th, 2010

Granted this post is aimed at bloggers and those who would like be become successful bloggers, but it’s also one that will show you that by combining your efforts, you can make money online.

This is not a quick way to pay the bills, however, if you have never proven to yourself, not once, that you can make money well here’s a good way to start.

And, the wonderful added bonus is… you’re driving traffic to someone’s web site, and (if you list yourself) you, too, will receive a flood of traffic in return.

So on the positive side your traffic count goes way up (thus way down in Alexa and those entities out there counting traffic stats) and you have that must-have action – the chance to put your blog in front of a real person’s eyes (so be ready and make sure your business plan is clear-cut for other’s to grasp when they get there).

On another positive note, you can (more…)

Finding Telecommuting Jobs On Reputable Web Sites

Monday, July 13th, 2009

Finding income, or sources of income, in these tough economic times is no mean feat. That’s why I’ve taken to scouting around for the best spots online (all free mine you) to give you your best shot at making cash from home.

At the moment, I’m only going to recommend a small handful because, frankly, most of these services are not what they appear to be and are a complete waste of your time (and mine). However, there is hope – and really good places to look – above and beyond the obvious (like Monster.com).

The ones I’ll be talking about off and on are not “submit your resume and hope for the best” web sites. These are boards and/or opportunities that, with the right skill set, just might land you a coveted telecommuting job (i.e., working from home for decent money).

Let’s start off with: (more…)

Google PR Rehash Plus Interesting Sunday Sites To Visit

Sunday, May 24th, 2009

For bloggers and website owners around the globe, if you’re struggling to get that PR rating from Google, and it still hasn’t happened, there is a reason – competition.

Not your competitor-type competition (though if your “niche” is more an “umbrella” that does effect you), but (especially for bloggers) if you’re participating in “paid to post” programs to pull in some cash for your time and efforts, chances are fairly certain that the powers that be will frown forever upon your efforts. But don’t despair. The ultimate sign of a popular web site or blog is its level of traffic. I’ve seen web sites with PR 6’s and 7’s, that get so little traffic they are truly lost in cyberspace yet acknowledged for what? Content, yes? Purity, most likely.

Anyway, just thought I’d get that off my chest yet again.

And, since it’s Sunday I also wanted to share two web links I’ve run across. One explains not only the “how to” to retweeting, but the why do it in the first place; the second is a warning about scammers using Facebook (yet again) in another unsavory way (both worth reading):

Bloggingbits on How to Retweet

Mashable posts about yet another Facebook phishing scam

We’ve also include additional link outs to topics covered in this post

Hope you’re in the middle of enjoying a wonderful Memorial Day weekend (for those in the U.S.) and a marvelous weekend to those around the world!
