Very Cool Tool Digs Digg For Like Minded Friends Fast
Today I stumbled across a website that is really very cool and very useful:
(Suggestion: Using the Firefox browser loads the page much faster, IE can hang up sometimes.)
The search results (where they show up) had me confused at first - (okay it’s Sunday and Easter so maybe that’s my excuse) - but once I understood where to look, well - it’s amazing! The results show right on their webpage (or the entire thing requires no download to do your searches).
Just enter a phrase - I tried “marketing” and “blogcatalog” (without the quotes) and search for either Profiles or Submissions posted in Digg that match your term.
Then DOWN BELOW the couple paragraphs of explanation, after you click on the “Show Friends” button, you’ll get a list out to everyone who’s either put the term in their profile or made a post using the term.
Now I put in terms related to what I’m interested in, but if you have a website about “dogs” or “knitting” or whatever, this will also work for you!
Enjoy and Happy Easter to All!

Hey, glad you like it!
We’ve been scratching our heads over the IE thing but it’s some weird bug (we think) having to do with patch levels in IE, XP, and probably the space-time fabric under Bill’s house.
But since a huge majority of our readers are on Mozilla it’s not been too big a deal.
I’m a bit concerned that you found the page confusing - at least beyond the necessary part when you’re dealing with a background process that makes the Digg API calls in a separate thread.
If you could drop us a line with some concrete suggestions we’ll take a close look at the page layout.

PS - Do dogs knit?

Thanks for the visit Oliver! And I’ve sent you off an email. Truly it could just be me… We have the reverse problem with our blog, IE was fine and Firefox a mess. I’m slowly working on trying to get them both happy, however, I notice for the moment one cannot read the Name, Email, URL in this comment field. I also notice in my IE browser the side columns want to center now… Ah well, it’s always something
