Hi Judy! Don’t know why the darn comments are going into moderation all the time, I’ve yet to figure that out LOL!

However, your opinions and feedback are deeply appreciated. Never feel like you have to wonder should you say something or not. That’s “freedom of speech!”

As for the sidestepping - I watched Obama’s first press conference and I was thinking more along the lines of he was thinking “yikes, so this is what it’s like” LOL!

They’ve all been doing their “stump” stuff. Now it’s “off the cuff” and that might be a harder transition. However, I still feel he will do all in his power (and he’s not the only person in Washington so we can only hope party lines will drop in favor of the American people they are meant to serve), and the right “stuff” gets done!

Okay, it’s time for a staunch republican to give her point of view (and I dread doing so for fear of retaliation)…however, I would say the same about McCain had he won. I was not fond of either candidate and believed very little of either of their rhetoric. However, I never lean to the left and only occasionally will move to the middle (like BOTH candidates did near the end of their campaigns). This country IS ready for a change and a change MUST come. I just hope it’s the change that we all wish for. I’ve listened to Obama’s speeches (post election) and it just seems to me that he is already, side-stepping, vascillating, back pedaling, and tap dancing. We shall have to wait and see if everyone is STILL happy with their decision by 2012. (Skepticism is my middle name)

Now it is not that I am returning the favour, but in all honesty, I found your article really interesting. It is concise, practical and points towards good resources. This is what I try to do in my articles as well.

I fully resonate with you when you say “you can make money online. Instant, overnight wealth? Most likely not. But for those willing to put forth the effort, yes it is definitely possible”. Making money online is definetly possible, but like anyother venture, it requires efforts, plans, brains and execution (at least in the start. Later on, one can ride on the wave, doing just si=ufficient to maintain momentum.

@Priya - I think it’s doing that because of some breadcrumb thing in the theme itself. Sort of annoying especially since I usually make long titles LOL!

@Jennifer - I believe there is a huge difference in spreading MORE wealth to the already wealthy and helping out the middle class. It’s like the above post. If we bought from each other, for things we really want and/or need, that’s “spreading the wealth.” It doesn’t mean I’ll mortgage my home to buy something I don’t need or want. You’ve got to admit that the last eight years have been a dismal failure. I (almost) feel sorry for Bush going down in history as the worst president EVER (and that’s not me saying it, it will be so written). I’d be hiding out for the rest of my life LOL!

There are a lot of misconceptions when it comes to the “people who sit on their butts and “expect” things to be handed to them.”

There are a lot of things a person needs to do to collect welfare, and they are very strict if you don’t complete the task, looking for a job, going back to school, etc. There is also a 5 year lifetime limit that you can get state services.

If people want this level of government changed they need to start looking at their state representatives!

I think that part of the reason shoppers end up buying from the big corporation and not the blogger is that after they’ve found the product, they go searching for a coupon code to get it cheaper, and the blogger loses their affiliate income.

Oh but I disagree with you Brad. I have a cousin with Cystic Fibrosis. Since he has a preexisting condition, no one will cover him (and an extremely expensive preexisting condition too). He works. So what do we do about people like that?

Or what about the people who lose their job to no fault of their own and lose everything? Why shouldn’t they getting a helping hand?

I have no problem with a “redistrubtion on wealth” as long has people aren’t on it for years and years and years.

Very interesting and well written post. I’m not an U.S.A. citizen, but like a lot of people around the world, cannot help but follow the American Elections ups and downs.

I’d really love to be wrong on this, but from my own country’s (and many others’s) experience, it’s hard to believe that the real “spreading the wealth” will mean an improvement on middle class status.

The top richest 1% always find a way or another to not spread THEIR wealth. The poorest don’t have wealth to spread, so it becomes the same old song: government taking the wealth from the middle class to funnel it up to the richest or to give it down “to deadbeats who refuse to get up and EARN it”.

I say again, I’d love to be wrong this time.

I believe in redistributing the wealth as with Birks economics. We would not even be having this conversation. However, I believe you have plainly stated the case for the middle class. Lets just hope that the right man gets the vote!

I’m so not into politics..and quite frankly I am so sick and tired of being sick and tired, that I just can’t wait for this to all be over with. I just hope and pray that whoever is elected will roll up there sleeves and get down to business!
Put away the partisan politics, fire most of congress, get rid of Pelosi, and do away with the electoral college, would be a good thing for starters! When it comes right down to it, do our votes really count?…think about it!

Okay, ladies, I’m putting in my two-cents-worth.

BTW, hello! With my new caregiving charges here now, I’ve had very little time to spend on the blogosphere, but I’m trying to at least stay abreast of what’s happening in the WHB community.

I my humble opinion, the concept of redistributing or sharing the wealth is being misunderstood here.

Certainly, as Diane has said, individuals choosing to purchase what they want or need from bloggers is a grand idea and will result in the various bloggers and corporations each being compensated accordingly.

But where the “redistribution of wealth” gets to be a “four-letter word,” is when our government begins to tax the snot out of both individuals and businesses (i.e., take the wealth) in order to fund some program that gives that wealth to deadbeats who refuse to get up and EARN it.

So, Diane, I would simply alter your statement slightly: It is the Republican party that believes you do NOT deserve a piece of the pie unless you actually WORK for it. Even then, there is nothing in our Constitution that guarantees that any amount of hard work will result in success. Therefore, if at first you don’t succeed, try again.
