All About Mixing the Old With the New

Sunday, October 24th, 2010

It goes without saying that in order to be seen on the internet, your business must be highly visible. Creating visibility takes innovative thinking, a willingness to be in the game for the long haul, and the patience, motivation and money to get the job done… properly.

That! Advertising Agency is a relative newcomer to the internet, bringing a wide range of personnel with a mixture of traditional and non-traditional methods of advertising to, and for, their clients.

Take Mike Knorr for instance. He is That’s Social Media Director and places emphasis on pay per click (PPC), search engine optimization (SEO) and web design. Most individuals and businesses would agree that all three of these areas must be aggressively targeted to ensure traffic. PPC, SEO, and particularly one’s website’s layout, are functions that, when properly executed, reap visitors. However, make even the smallest mistake and your business is in a world of hurt. There are just too many others – your competition – to get these essential tasks wrong.

Ken Korr is CEO and “Chief Idea Generator” for That!. Certified in MCT, MCP, MCSE, and the proper implementation of Google Adwords, Ken’s ideas and forward thinking lead the team.

That! Advertising Agency also has not forgotten that offline is as important, for many businesses, as online. Offline print ads and the use of television and radio spots are also their forte. In the right circumstances, for the right businesses, That! can get these types of spreading the word recognition done for you.

Sound marketing strategies are few and far between when one goes it alone online. It makes sense to investigate services that bring skill sets to the internet that you either do not have the talent to apply or the time it takes to do it yourself.

Not Sure Why But Survey I Did

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

This morning in my inbox was a survey request by the program owner of the web site builder I use for My Wizard Ads. Typically I tend to ignore these, but since the subject revolved around the all important “traffic and how to get more” issue, I was game.

After going through a series of screens and reaching the finish line, I came to two conclusions:

1. The “recommend a friend” (which I did not fill out) was inevitable.

2. As I answered the questions, I can already “see” the results for myself.

The outcome of this survey, one of which I am still hoping will be useful, at the moment appears to be a rehash of who is doing what currently online. Traffic generating is a huge issue, and always will be, of course.

However, since there was no spot to input comments like, “Hey, you’re not going to believe this, but I found that x is a great way to get traffic!”, it most likely will be yet another compilation of the same thing we all know – email marketing, blogging, article marketing, PPC, coaching, search engine optimization, and social media marketing. The only difference will be the percentages – how many are using which ones.

So, while I have my fingers crossed that there might be “something new” to learn, I can almost with 100% accuracy predict what will be in the “report”.

Thank goodness I’m getting a copy of it for free LOL!

(P.S. I know, the title sounds very “Yoda” to me, too)

Anyone Else Hear That Echo?

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Okay, it’s not as if the internet isn’t flooded with social communities. In fact, they are coming out our ears. I know it, and you know it. Trying to stay in touch with all of them is – well let’s just say it – a nightmare.

That’s why I almost passed on the latest invitation I received, but something caught my eye.

Does the word “money” mean anything to you?

EchoLoops has an interesting premise. The email I received stated the fact that Facebook and their like are making millions, and that means we are the ones making them so popular. EchoLoops, with its growing traffic numbers, is willing to advance your rankings in the search engines (by being a part of the social circle, these things get indexed fairly easily and you can be there, too). They also mention “rebate checks” for shopping, along with combining the power of Facebook, YouTube, games, shopping, etc.

Now, I haven’t a clue where this will go since I do not (unfortunately) possess a crystal ball. I have filled out my profile in much greater detail then several other spots I thought I would haunt. I’m working on the angle that the more you say, the better things go. We shall see. In the meantime…

Signing up is free. And if you’re just a tad tired of any particular circle that’s been running you around in circles, EchoLoops just may be your answer.

Enjoy!

Trash or Treasure

I just visited Business Sphere while working through those money-making “spikes” in CMFAds.

The post that caught my eye was a discussion on Entercard and whether or not the 300 drops per day should be lessened to 150. The question being would that decrease bounce rates and increase quality as one visits someone else’s blog?

That answer remains a mystery, but I thought my own comment was worth repeating for those visiting this blog (and that includes bloggers, web site owners and affiliate marketers alike).

It reads: (more…)
