Not Sure Why But Survey I Did

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

This morning in my inbox was a survey request by the program owner of the web site builder I use for My Wizard Ads. Typically I tend to ignore these, but since the subject revolved around the all important “traffic and how to get more” issue, I was game.

After going through a series of screens and reaching the finish line, I came to two conclusions:

1. The “recommend a friend” (which I did not fill out) was inevitable.

2. As I answered the questions, I can already “see” the results for myself.

The outcome of this survey, one of which I am still hoping will be useful, at the moment appears to be a rehash of who is doing what currently online. Traffic generating is a huge issue, and always will be, of course.

However, since there was no spot to input comments like, “Hey, you’re not going to believe this, but I found that x is a great way to get traffic!”, it most likely will be yet another compilation of the same thing we all know – email marketing, blogging, article marketing, PPC, coaching, search engine optimization, and social media marketing. The only difference will be the percentages – how many are using which ones.

So, while I have my fingers crossed that there might be “something new” to learn, I can almost with 100% accuracy predict what will be in the “report”.

Thank goodness I’m getting a copy of it for free LOL!

(P.S. I know, the title sounds very “Yoda” to me, too)

SEO Positive Ltd – One Of The Top SEO Companies In The UK

Monday, June 21st, 2010

Not all SEO companies are created equal, and SEO Positive, based out of the United Kingdom is one of them. In business since 2008, they have made their mark on the seo world by providing numerous valuable resources for website owners.

Their company, while not limited to these categories, includes major key components to successfully finding one’s website listed in the right search engines under the proper keywords. This includes their ability to assist you with proper Pay Per Click management, and that all-important, strategic link building.

When working with SEO Positive’s SEO team, they help you go through your web site, research your competitiors and your niche within your market. Since the right choice of keywords is paramount to effectively placing your website within searchable reach of the search engines it is only after extensive evaluation and selecting the right keywords that they begin doing “what we do best ‘search engine optimisation’”.

While SEO Positive lives up to its name, honing in on proper search engine optimization for your website, they also provide web design, hosting, email marketing, and lots of very nifty (and free to use right on the website) SEO tools for every visitor.

Their free-to-use SEO tools include: page ranking, link popularity, alexa rank, spider simulation, domain age, keyword density, keyword difficulty, and page rank prediction. Make note, because many of these tools are getting harder and harder to find.

And, the wonderful thing is, their SEO tools do work :)

With a solid reputation, and years of experience online, anyone in need of an SEO firm should definitely make it a priority to visit SEO Positive.

Real Versus Fake | You Can Tell The Difference Right?

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

I will be the first one (okay maybe not the very first one, but…) to tell you that commenting on blogs is an excellent, free way to potentially expand back links to your own website. Not every blog gives out “link love,” but those that do (like this one) I salute you. Those that don’t, depending on who they are and how they are doing, are still invaluable.

The reason is simple. People read the comments almost as much as they read the post itself. In fact, I’ve spend literally an hour or more going down through the comments of some posts totally intrigued on the back and forth that happens. Some truly strike my fancy, and I am apt to right click on a name (this way I control how it opens – in a new tab or a new window) just to see what that particular person is all about – what they are “into.”

Yet, logging into the admin area, there is also the inevitable spam comments. With good plugins, they are kept to a minimum, but on occasion the software doesn’t quite know how to classify the remark. Thus, the yellow box (in WordPress) tells me someone has said something and WordPress needs my hands on assistance to decide should it be posted or tossed in the trash. (more…)

Free Link Building Not Just For Beginners

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Believe it or not, it is hard to explain link building, trust me. For a few years, a business associate (and good friend) and I had a thriving business that was built strictly for the purpose of building links in the search engines, using natural methods.

The trouble was even though those signing up knew right from the get go that the membership was about building links and nothing more, still the questions would come… primarily “where’s my traffic?”

Building links is one of the many objectives you need to set for yourself to be successful online. So, when a service offers free link building and the tools to get the job done, then you would be foolish not to investigate.

Recently I came across a website called Free Link Building Tools that must have Google’s approval since they’ve got a PR, and their Alexa and membership numbers demonstrate they are growing. In fact, as I write they have 2,894 registered members and 1,786 registered domains. (You’ll be able to see for yourself when you click through to check them out.)

What I like about this website is there are no huge claims, just lots of good information, along with tools for webmasters to get the job done. Don’t be fooled, you do need to know (or know someone who does) how to:

o Install simple script coding on your website and/or WordPress blog, and

o Read and follow directions so that your domains are added and linked up correctly (to reap the benefits).

And, to be truly successful and get everything setup right, I’d highly recommend you first read their Tips section. One article in there, called Link Building Etiquette not only explains the benefits to exchanging links, but also how to do it properly – from who and how to link, to proper titling, to essential information you need to know first to make the most of this search engine optimization trick of the trade.

Not all links are created equal, however, Free Link Building Tools is a resource you will want to thoroughly investigate.
