Honestly Do You Really Need The SEOPressor Plugin?

Friday, February 11th, 2011

seopressor wordpress plugin review should you buy itFirst, the SEOPressor is not shiny and new, I realize that. This WordPress SEO plugin also is not free. These are two factors you need to take into consideration as you contemplate my personal review of SEOPressor.

So, here’s what I think. If you get the whole idea of marking up your posts correctly as you write them – you understand the breakdown of headings, the use of bolding, italics, underlining, etc., in their proper places and amounts – you are 80% on your way to already making good use of SEO optimizing your WordPress post. But that remaining 20%? Well, that’s where the little ‘ol SEOPressor plugin comes into play.

In fact, knowing and applying these little writing nuggets actually prevented me from shelling out the very reasonable fee for either a one-domain use of SEOPressor or even the unlimited domain SEOPressor fee to get this plugin. I thought about the whole idea of spending money for about a month. My reasoning was simple because I figured, “Hey I already know this stuff.”

And then I got to really use the SEOPressor plugin (for completely free and no it wasn’t given to me but that’s another story) and as this story goes… I was blown away :)

For WordPress Stats Fanatics

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

Recently it seems that those wonderful individuals who take the time to make plugins for WordPress (and even Blogger) must be on summer vacation (or skiing if it’s winter where you live). Whatever the reason, I’ve had a heck of a time finding a plugin (other than WordPress’ own – which is third party and not at all accurate if you self-host).

But today I’m making the rounds of the blogs in the network, updating each with the latest, working one called SlimStat.

A simple but powerful real-time web analytics plugin for WordPress. It doesn’t require any subscription to external statistic services: all metrics are kept on your local server, private and accessible to your eyes only. Features the famous one-click install-and-go. Results are shown in real-time! (Description courtesy of WordPress)

It’s new, so I’ll have to see how long it lasts. But it’s “light weight” and even if you haven’t gone to the 3.0 level yet (we haven’t and for a reason), it works like a charm.

So if you’re a stats nut, and really want to know who, what, where, when and how, give it a whirl :)

Get Paid to Drop Drives Traffic

Monday, January 25th, 2010

Granted this post is aimed at bloggers and those who would like be become successful bloggers, but it’s also one that will show you that by combining your efforts, you can make money online.

This is not a quick way to pay the bills, however, if you have never proven to yourself, not once, that you can make money well here’s a good way to start.

And, the wonderful added bonus is… you’re driving traffic to someone’s web site, and (if you list yourself) you, too, will receive a flood of traffic in return.

So on the positive side your traffic count goes way up (thus way down in Alexa and those entities out there counting traffic stats) and you have that must-have action – the chance to put your blog in front of a real person’s eyes (so be ready and make sure your business plan is clear-cut for other’s to grasp when they get there).

On another positive note, you can (more…)

Boy What A Week Update From Cpanel to Plesk

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

Update Time! You might want to glance at the post below to know what I mean :)

I’ve spent the past week plus getting a cram course from my brother who (thank god!) understands coding, hosting, windows (which I’m not using), and Plesk and Linux (though he hates the latter).

I (using the term losely) am moving the entire Whole Hog Blogs network of massive wordpress blogs to new servers – bigger, faster, just all in all great to make the move AND save some cash in the process. Of course in the beginning, it was me doing the data gathering and him sewing it all back together.

But the learning curve has been brutual with 16-20 hour days for what seems like my life. I’m sure my brother is thinking the same thing.

I actually interrupted him while he puts together a HUGE website/blog (that I will write all about in the very near future since he’s looking of course for not only readers but WRITERS).

I am pleased to say that with only short/quick phone calls now (and not every single time LOL), I believe I have come close to mastering the art of moving small, medium, and large (well organized) wordpress blogs. There was an instance, or two, where he patiently put back together anywhere from 30,000 to 90,000 lines of code! Thank you Bob!

So the move is almost accomplished! I loved where I was hosting everyone at Rackforce, it’s just that it was impossible to pass up the bargain of a brand new server built from the ground up with over six times the storage and 10 times the backbone (for much less).

I’ve been a cpanel person all my online life, but you know even when you want to give up and run back to what’s “safe” it’s worth it to stick to your guns and learn something new! Now I’m comfortable with another way to do business using Plesk! TaDa!
