While Suspense Builds For New Service Fun Sunday To Share

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

This video was made in the Antwerp, Belgium Central (Train) Station on March 23, 2009, with no warning to the passengers passing through the station. At 8:00 am a recording of Julie Andrews singing ‘Do, Re, Mi’ begins to play on the public address system.

As the bemused passengers watch in amazement, some 200 dancers begin to appear from the crowd and station entrances. They created this amazing stunt with just two rehearsals!

(Thanks go to my father for sending me this to share with you this Sunday morning! A great follow up for my birthday yesterday!)

Why Thinking Backward Is Best

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

I received this from my father (don’t know who sent it to him), and I almost didn’t listen. However, curiosity getting the better of me I clicked the link in his email (whereas I’ve just posted the video below to make it easy for you).

Here’s the email that came with the link:

A palindrome reads the same backwards as forward. This video reads the exact opposite backwards as forward. Not only does it read the opposite, the meaning is the exact opposite.

This is only a 1 minute, 44 second video and it is brilliant. Make sure you read as well as listen…forward and backward.

This is a video that was submitted in a contest by a 20-year old. The contest was titled “u @ 50″ by AARP. This video won second place. When they showed it, everyone in the room was awe-struck and broke into spontaneous applause. So simple and yet so brilliant. Take a minute and watch it.

(If you have a good monitor and a great graphics card you’ll be able to read along. However, even if you cannot see the words, listen with your soul wide open.)

Are You Really 7 Years Younger?

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

Sorry to disappoint, but no I’m not talking about cosmetic surgery or any new cream to make you LOOK younger, I actually found a way that “legally” makes you younger!

All you need to do is use the Ethiopian Calendar!

You may be pleasantly surprised to find out that, using their calendar, you are actually seven (7), yes seven (7) years younger than the Gregorian style calendar that we currently use.

In fact, many types of calendars are much more accurate than the one most of us “think” is the one and only.

Check the link above and convert the Gregorian version to over a dozen different choices. And, keeping a positive attitude, especially nowadays, and saying to yourself, “I’m actually 7 years younger!” is a big boost to anyone’s spirit :)

And, here’s yet another spot to read all about the Ethiopian Calendar in greater detail.

BTW, I have decided to embrace this “new way” of looking at my life because when I subtract the 7 years it feels much more accurate to me… I kid you not :)

Have fun!

Fun Sunday 19 Out of 20 What’s Your Score?

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

Since it’s Sunday, the day to relax (?) and just take it easy (?), I thought I’d post another email I received over the week from my great friend Linda over at Forcedgreen.

Linda is currently working the census (IT position) in the middle of nowhere Texas this year, I’m amazed she finds the time to keep me laughing and amused.

So below you’ll find a history exam. Keep in mind NO Cheating – don’t look at the answers until you take the test (you’ll have to click on the Read more to get the answers anyway, so take the test first).

I did get 19 out of 20 but not because I’m that old LOL but I do read quite a bit and/or have just heard the information at some point in my life. However, a lot of it I did just plain know, because I grew up with most of it.

Keep in mind that this might be pretty easy for anyone over 40. If you are under 40, you can claim a handicap.

Have fun!
