Strategy for Working Together

Sunday, October 16th, 2011

This video dates back to 2010, when the world was mostly focused on disaster. However, it’s an uplifting video (truly no pun intended) that just goes to show when people really want to work together, anything is possible.

Although a bit grainy (the youtube video), the concept and “show” is worth the very short 2 minutes or so watch:

How many of the rest of us could get that many people together to help? Must be a great community to live in!

Good For Your Soul Strategy

Thursday, July 14th, 2011

I want to thank my great friend Linda of Forcedgreen for sending me this, it’s just wonderful! And, just so you know this is not my grandchild – this was an email I received that I just had to share. If more people (grown up people) were as thoughtful imagine what kind of world we’d be living in…

family valuesLast week, I took my grand children to a restaurant. My six-year-old grand-son asked if he could say grace. As we bowed our heads he said, “God is good, God is great. Thank you for the food, and I would even thank you more if Nana gets us ice cream for dessert. And liberty and justice for all! Amen!”

Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby, I heard a woman remark, “That’s what’s wrong with this country. Kids today don’t even know how to pray. Asking God for ice cream! Why, I never!”

Hearing this, my grand-son burst into tears and asked me, “Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?” As I held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job, and God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the table. He winked at my grand-son and said, “I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer.”

“Really?” my grand-son asked. “Cross my heart,” the man replied.

Then, in a theatrical whisper, he added (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing), “Too bad she never asks God for ice cream. A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes.”

Naturally, I bought my grand children ice cream at the end of the meal. My grand-son stared at his for a moment, and then did something I will remember the rest of my life.

He picked up his sundae and, without a word, walked over and placed it in front of the woman. With a big smile he told her, “Here, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes; and my soul is good already.”

The wonderful thing about knowing you have a wanted pregnancy is finally getting the test result that backs it up! There are plenty of testing kits on the market for that particular test result (you are pregnant) but until recently to find out the gender of your child required a trip to the doctor, ultrasound, and (in some cases) guess work on the person doing your “belly inspection.”

Gender Test Result Do It At Home

However, the wonderful folks over at Gendermaker have developed an at-home test result kit that will answer your question, “Boy or Girl?” It is delightfully easy to use their “my baby gender” kit, too.

Working on the same principles that specific hormones and other criteria appear in a pregnant woman’s urine, their kit will let you know the answer well ahead of time.

Family Values | Could Yours Use A Bit of Shining

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

It’s getting close to that time of year when good cheer and well wishes spring forth as if trapped all year waiting for this one special moment.

With everything that has happened impacting my family this year, especially toward the end, it has me wondering why (or why not) holiday season’s are treated any differently then throughout the year.

Perhaps you are one of the lucky ones. Love and happiness raining down upon each and all day-in and day-out regardless of the day or week or month. And, yes, you should consider yourself lucky, because life is not so typically black and white for many.

This year continues to see, for many, fruitless attempts to return to the workforce. In addition, since it was a “political year” we have all been bombarded with negativity via the television, print ad, snail mail, email, videos, and more. (more…)
