Politics Heating Up Along with Summer Weather

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

The paper today is filled to the brim with controversial tales of GOP politics, religion court decisions, and education. The more I read, the sicker I feel.

As if it were not bad enough that it is so darn hot here in Las Vegas, the news also seems to be feeling the effects. With high unemployment, foreclosures at an unbelievable level, and now political races you want to run from, Nevada is having a really tough time.

I’ll be covering more about all of these over at WorldNewsVine this evening. So keep in touch with current, factual news – and our soon to be he said/she said (alias Dems versus GOP) section.

Time to turn up the air conditioning!

Master the Art of Getting Your Masters of Arts Teaching Degree Online

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of USC. All opinions are 100% mine.

It goes without saying that competition for jobs is getting tougher by the day. Those who choose to can easily earn degrees from home. With a wealth of innovative uses of technology in education, Rossier and the MAT@USC program gives you the flexibility and, best of all convenience, of furthering your education all through studying online.

USC has a 100 year history providing education for teachers. They are an “internationally renowned research institution”. When scouting training online, it is always best to know, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that the school you choose is legitimate. USC’s School of Education sits in the 22nd position nationwide (United States), and is 9th as a private university (statistics courtesy of US News and World Report).

Our son currently takes his classes completely online. For our family, and the state in which we live (Nevada), tightening belts has become the norm. Many families across the country face similar situations. Therefore, combining “highly interactive online learning with field-based experiences in your local area” is one smart move.

If money is a worry, don’t. MAT@USC graduates receive a tuition reimbursement that has been called “groundbreaking”. It is designed specifically for graduates of MAT@USC.

Few opportunities come along where the right balance of convenience, excellence in education, and financial reimbursements blend as well as they do taking courses online through the USC Rossier School of Education’s MAT@USC program.

Enrolling in their program, each person has the identical, complete benefits, and status as if you were on campus. These benefits include commencement ceremonies, along with your very own – and free – lifetime Alumni Association membership.

Explore your options! Discover how to advance in this highly competitive world we now live in. Your chance to “become part of the elite USC Trojan Family” is just a click away.

It’s easy to find out more. Just click program information to find out how easy a qualified degree can be to obtain from a prestigious institution.

Alvin and the Chipmunks | A Blast From The Past

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Alvin and the Chipmunks. All opinions are 100% mine.

Once upon a time there wasn’t a Saturday morning that would go by where Alvin and his sidekicks weren’t watched by “us kids.” And, it seems once again that More Munk Mayhem has become extremely popular – very trendy in fact.

For families with young children, and/or if you are a Chipmunk fan in your own right, the new “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel” is available on DVD, Blu-ray and, actually, you can make life very easy on yourself via digital download, buy it now.

Frankly, I just do not get today’s cartoons. Often dark and what I consider to be filled with violence, I long for yesteryear’s light, bright, and totally engaging cartoon return. Yes, I am a die-hard fan of the Saturday mornings of old, filled with Bugs Bunny, Underdog, even Mighty Mouse. And, again, Alvin and his gang were always a part of every weekend morning.

Today’s parent is lucky indeed. Keeping your children entertained through music, a bit of chipmunk mayhem, and the ever popular sing alongs, Fox Family Flicks even has a double DVD pack of fun that should keep your kids amused for hours on end!

And, as an added incentive to give your children some quality online fun, be sure to check out Munk Yourself in 3 easy steps. It’s actually very cute. You select your character, customize your choice, and create your own audio message. A great way to teach your young ones computer skills without them ever catching on :)

Tax Savings Tool For Tough Economic Times

Monday, March 29th, 2010

This morning I received the following email – posted as I received it – from my father (remember the was-Republican, ain’t one now guy after 60+ years?). That statement isn’t to get your goat, but to show you that he’s on the mailing list to receive information directly from White House sources – not the rhetoric your “should be, but isn’t news channels” disseminate.

Anyway, as you can tell I’m a bit testy today… However, I urge you to take advantage of this information. We’ve already done our taxes (using TurboTax online which ensured we received all the advantages we could for filing 2009 taxes).

With a husband unemployed since last August 2009, and a family of four (plus two cats) to take care of – well let’s just say if this story sounds familiar to you, then you’ll want to use this tax saving’s tool referenced below: (more…)
