Apples Are Not Just For Teachers

Saturday, September 3rd, 2011

apple laptopIn the olden days, personal computers were large, clunky, definitely non-mobile creatures, and there was no such thing as a laptop, let alone an apple laptop. However, Apple didn’t stand still and just take it on the chin. We all know the story. Two guys get together, develop, fight, and part ways. But for those lucky enough to enjoy the wonders of any Apple product, their new selection of an apple laptop for those in the market for mobility is amazingly diverse.

Why Choose An Apple Laptop?

Apple users have always been thought of as a breed apart. PC users have been lured into the idea that Apple products are not the way to go. Lots of marketing ploys, but the truth is far different than the picture painted.

A good friend of ours, who lives in the Los Angeles area, is a truly loyal Apple user, a real apple laptop fan. In fact, I believe you’d have to pry it from his cold, dead hands (sorry it’s just an expression). However, he does love it that much :)

And, are you aware that the big manufacturers you associate with pc’s also make sure they have a large selection of apple laptops in their arsenals? It’s true. Hewlett-Packard has more than 280 apple-related products, Acer clocks in with more than 180, Toshiba with 153. Those are just some of the “big name” manufacturers, long trusted to supply the best of the best laptops.

A Mobile World Means An Apple Laptop

In a world that moves at the speed of light, having a MacBook Air Notebook (for example) at the ready is a must. Weighing in at a mere 3 pounds, along with its amazing 1.6 GHz 2/64 Flash, what Apple did was take what they had learned by designing the iPad and incorporated those features and more into this highly portable machine.

Of course, there are many, many, many more choices in a variety of sizes, prices, and features. So the next time you’re in the market for a computer, be sure to put an apple laptop on your list to investigate when you go shopping!

Do People Expect Too Much Too Soon?

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

I’m curious what your thoughts are regarding the internet as a means to make money. Actually, more specifically, I’m wondering do people naturally assume because it is easy to access the internet, that translates into “easy money”, too?

Evidence I receive day to day suggests more and more desperate individuals (and with an unemployment rate at worse than scary heights it’s not small wonder) are making their way to the internet in the search for money. The primary question asked, “How fast can I make that money?”

Actually this question comes in many forms. From the “how many sales” to the previously mentioned, “how soon” to the “what should I promote to make some fast money?”

People are desperate, because these are precarious times. However, don’t let your desperation let you do something stupid. If you’re down to your last dollars (hopefully not!), then hoping to suddenly strike it rich online is foolish. (more…)

How Important Is The Right Monitor?

Monday, February 8th, 2010

I’ve been shopping off and on for the right monitor for my computer. I have several in the office – using the LED one being my preference.

The thing is it’s just not large enough to open multiple windows efficiently. The volume of work and the arena I work in (training bloggers and helping online advertisers) often means jumping from one spot to another.

I did run across some very reasonably price information on a hd monitor. Price per price – or pound per pound – those in the UK (in particular) would do well to check them out.

In fact, having seen many of the varieties listed on their site at our local stores (so I have a feel for what the actual visuals will be like on a particular model), I’m truly impressed with their prices.

Let’s face it, nothing beats seeing a large selection all in one spot for a bit of comparison shopping!

Here’s to me finding the ideal hd monitor for myself!

It’s Not You, It’s Outlook

Monday, January 11th, 2010

I use Outlook. In fact my entire business depends on it. And, believe it or not, for years I have put up with the tiny, tiny font size Outlook defaults to when installed.

Sure, I’ve played around with this and that. I’ve changed screen resolutions (that have absolutely zero effect, of course). I’ve changed what I could find in the settings and options within Outlook itself – still nothing. Then I’d just give up and continue working – until recently when I said, “Enough is enough, there has got to be a way!”

The following information on changing Outlook’s font size provides the solution. Correction… it solves about 90% of the problem. However, once you’ve made the adjustments shown step-by-step via screenshots, your eyes will jump out of your head and thank you!

Again, it’s not an entire fix, but the “important stuff” such as finally seeing the list of messages in your inbox will make a world of difference for you.

NOTE: I did find that for all the hundreds (literally) of folders I have in Outlook, each needs adjusting. But if you take the really needed ones – your inbox, delete folder, storage areas for important aspects of business and/or family communications – and follow the steps above, your new year will be off to a BIGGER and better start when it comes to receiving and reviewing your incoming mail!

NOTE on NOTE: I cannot believe it took me this long to find some sort of solution. I can only hazard a guess that after looking (most likely with the wrong keywords – see how important keywords are?) that I continued to put this important task on the back burner.
