Strategies That Have Been Consuming My Life and Yours?

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

Ah how life gets in the way of itself.

Recently, I’ve taken on an additional task of both Editor and columnist. And, the topic of the “day” (one long endless day consuming hours, days, even weeks of many millions of people’s lives) has been the antics of what happens when our government representatives get together.

One primary group of people struggling to figure out successful strategies to stay alive are the group becoming known as the 99ers. This no-where-to-be-found-with-representation group are those who have long since exhausted unemployment extensions and benefits. I’ve been covering a lot of news and options for them, because, living in Nevada, sooner or later this may have a direct impact on our family life as well.

So, as you travel the internet reading posts, news stories, articles and the like, remember those who have nothing.

Also remember that websites and blogs post “advertisements” for a reason. They are not just “pretty pictures” or “additional words” for many it is a form of financial livelihood.

Tax Savings Tool For Tough Economic Times

Monday, March 29th, 2010

This morning I received the following email – posted as I received it – from my father (remember the was-Republican, ain’t one now guy after 60+ years?). That statement isn’t to get your goat, but to show you that he’s on the mailing list to receive information directly from White House sources – not the rhetoric your “should be, but isn’t news channels” disseminate.

Anyway, as you can tell I’m a bit testy today… However, I urge you to take advantage of this information. We’ve already done our taxes (using TurboTax online which ensured we received all the advantages we could for filing 2009 taxes).

With a husband unemployed since last August 2009, and a family of four (plus two cats) to take care of – well let’s just say if this story sounds familiar to you, then you’ll want to use this tax saving’s tool referenced below: (more…)

Are You Really 7 Years Younger?

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

Sorry to disappoint, but no I’m not talking about cosmetic surgery or any new cream to make you LOOK younger, I actually found a way that “legally” makes you younger!

All you need to do is use the Ethiopian Calendar!

You may be pleasantly surprised to find out that, using their calendar, you are actually seven (7), yes seven (7) years younger than the Gregorian style calendar that we currently use.

In fact, many types of calendars are much more accurate than the one most of us “think” is the one and only.

Check the link above and convert the Gregorian version to over a dozen different choices. And, keeping a positive attitude, especially nowadays, and saying to yourself, “I’m actually 7 years younger!” is a big boost to anyone’s spirit :)

And, here’s yet another spot to read all about the Ethiopian Calendar in greater detail.

BTW, I have decided to embrace this “new way” of looking at my life because when I subtract the 7 years it feels much more accurate to me… I kid you not :)

Have fun!

Bidazzled Where Literally Everyone Wins

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Bidazzled. All opinions are 100% mine.

Bidazzled recently caught my attention for a number of reasons:

1. The premise of the web site was founded around The Ruch Foundation (a lung charity organization)

2. It’s a “penny auction” or “pay-per-bid” auction web site. These are always fun and you never know what’s coming up for bid – so keeping your eyes wide open is a must

3. Everybody wins! Even if you’re not the winner for the item you are bidding on, Bidazzeled still awards you up to 50 “bonus bids.” Their personal way of saying thank you for giving it a go – and of course encouragement to come back again and again to this auction fun zone.

They have also covered their bases since not everyone is a fan of bidding. So if an auction is not your style, but the item online is, then you can “purchase the auction item less the investment you had in the auction.”

What is truly odd, or unique, is that they, in turn, offer the winner of the auction the ability to sell it back to them! Yeah, I know it sounds odd, but they will buy it back for cash (PayPal or check); cash plus bids; or more bids.

You will also love the fact that a bid costs just $1 with a minimum purchase of just $25 per pack. And, just so you know, in Bidazzled’s first month online two people won Nintendo Wii’s. How much did it cost them? Just 5 free bids!

Honestly, as if that wasn’t enough, they also have a referral program so you can build up your bidding power like crazy just for spreading the word about this amazing – and truly strange (in a wonderful way) auction website!
