Not Sure Why But Survey I Did

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

This morning in my inbox was a survey request by the program owner of the web site builder I use for My Wizard Ads. Typically I tend to ignore these, but since the subject revolved around the all important “traffic and how to get more” issue, I was game.

After going through a series of screens and reaching the finish line, I came to two conclusions:

1. The “recommend a friend” (which I did not fill out) was inevitable.

2. As I answered the questions, I can already “see” the results for myself.

The outcome of this survey, one of which I am still hoping will be useful, at the moment appears to be a rehash of who is doing what currently online. Traffic generating is a huge issue, and always will be, of course.

However, since there was no spot to input comments like, “Hey, you’re not going to believe this, but I found that x is a great way to get traffic!”, it most likely will be yet another compilation of the same thing we all know – email marketing, blogging, article marketing, PPC, coaching, search engine optimization, and social media marketing. The only difference will be the percentages – how many are using which ones.

So, while I have my fingers crossed that there might be “something new” to learn, I can almost with 100% accuracy predict what will be in the “report”.

Thank goodness I’m getting a copy of it for free LOL!

(P.S. I know, the title sounds very “Yoda” to me, too)

Google Limits Page Views Or As The World Gets Weirder

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Strangely enough, just before this “story broke” (actually it was hidden in a tiny little section of our local business paper which I detest – the paper and the hiding), a friend of mine running WorldNewsVine and I were talking about the people’s right to news and how it’s used on their websites and blogs.

I won’t get into the whole convoluted mess, but here’s the little snippet of information that, if anything, should get you to take a look at your own web site or blog if you provide feeds:

Google said it will allow publishers to set a daily limit on the number of articles readers can view free through its search engine.

What the…?!

So I went digging, and suggest you take a look at:

o News.Sky.com

o Sliceofscifi.com

Or just do what I did and type in “google limits articles” into their search engine.

Freedom is getting slimmer by the day people… we best be sticking up for ourselves – fair warning.
