@Beth Charette - first thanks for the visit and taking the time to comment! Lots to learn online, lots of time needed/devoted to mastering the art. BTW, you've got a cool website!

No doubt these tactics are great, and applied to deep knowledge or skill will make an online business a lot of money.

My problem is that the average Joe just doesn't have any deep knowledge in anything particular or deep skill either.

My older brother, for example, went to a traditional college, majored in social science and partying, and now at the age of 23 only knows he has opinions and rights, but nothing else.

He also fell in love with a subject, college football, but only as a spectator. So far as I know, he can't sell that in the open market short of opening a gambling house.

My other brother on the other hand, went to the online college I am attending, was able to work and learn a business during those years he attended, and now has a nice landscape architecture business, including selling that type of equipment.

This year, too late for my older brother, the Department of Education (US) has announced that kids who attend online schools learn more than those attending traditional face to face schools. Where were they when my older brother needed advice?

They were telling everyone that online schools were scams, that's where they were.

So, I agree wholeheartedly with the techniques you are espousing here, but those techniques have to be applied to deep knowledge, skill and love of subject before others are going to reach for their wallets.

All the techniques in the world won't help my older brother until he learns something that other people want, and his OPINIONS definitely do not fall into that category.

Beth

My favorite hobby shop:

ToysPeriod is a leading online shop specializing in lego sets and model railroad equipment.

Great post and I agree. More often than not, there is tons of regurgitated info being rehashed at incredible prices. A lot can just be learned online. I, myself, would only pay for something that I had never heard before. There are products like that out there. One just has to do some digging. Thanks for sharing!
