Get Paid to Drop Drives Traffic

Granted this post is aimed at bloggers and those who would like be become successful bloggers, but it’s also one that will show you that by combining your efforts, you can make money online.

This is not a quick way to pay the bills, however, if you have never proven to yourself, not once, that you can make money well here’s a good way to start.

And, the wonderful added bonus is… you’re driving traffic to someone’s web site, and (if you list yourself) you, too, will receive a flood of traffic in return.

So on the positive side your traffic count goes way up (thus way down in Alexa and those entities out there counting traffic stats) and you have that must-have action – the chance to put your blog in front of a real person’s eyes (so be ready and make sure your business plan is clear-cut for other’s to grasp when they get there).

On another positive note, you can “kill two birds with one stone” (whoever came up with that phrase?!). But it’s true.

If you’re a member of Entrecard, BlogCatalog, MyBlogLog or any of the many out there that serve the purpose of socially driving traffic to your blog, you’ll be pleased to find out that by logging in to each of your favorites first (so you’re all set to go) and then logging into CMF Ads, within CMF you’ll see a section called “Spikes.”

The Spikes are nothing more than cards (125×125 just like Entrecard) that others have paid a mere x cents for 50 drops. You, however, make $0.002 cents by clicking on each listed Spike (there are 30 on a page and refreshing the page when you’re done gives you another set of 30).

So yeah, big deal you say. Wow, if I drop 50 I’ll make a dime. That is NOT the point, however, it makes a nice added incentive TO drop BECAUSE while you’re adding up the pennies, you also look on each blog for the following:

1. Their Entrecard widget – if it is there, drop your card. You need to drop cards anyway, so why not get paid at the same time?

2. If they are part of BlogCatalog or MyBlogLog or any other community you belong to that shows widgets. If yes, great another bonus for you because your friends and/or soon to be friends at these places, in general, RETURN THE VISIT. This means more traffic for your blog. The beauty is your visit is automatically acknowledged by the widget for you (no “work” involved).

3. When they arrive, if you’ve got what they want, well there’s your next signup or sale or even bookmark or feed reader, right?

By now it should be clear to most that using social media is a tool. Yes, we make great friends in these places. Maybe your new-found friend will signup or buy something from you. But the important part of all this is… traffic. Boatloads of it.

I’d get into proper tagging and categorizing (but that’s a given and maybe even another post later – follow up really I talk about it a lot), but the point is by combining all your “marketing tools” with what you need to do (daily is great), you’re also building up (albeit it slowly but surely) perhaps the first paycheck you’ve ever received online.

For those using CMF Ads and Entrecard, putting the two together should be a no brainer. You will not find an EC card on every CMF-clicked-on “Spike,” but when you do presto! another card at EC for the day, and another tiny bit of cash for you building at CMFAds!

And… don’t forget when you combine your efforts you are using your time more wisely. As you arrive on the blog, do look for ways to COMMENT.

Now you are:

1. Getting paid to drop
2. Getting return visitors for dropping
3. Getting more traffic because of the above
4. Adding commenting and you’re building back links.

That’s what successful blogging is all about – putting yourself out there as much as possible – which has the added bonus of building search engine recognition for your truly hot market!

P.S. BE KIND! Open each “Spike” in a new tab using Firefox for instance. Let them all load (you’re going to need to do this anyway even for really fast connections it just makes life run smoother), and try to stay on that person’s blog AT LEAST 30 seconds or more. This keeps their bounce rate down, and in return, hopefully they are nice enough to do likewise for you when they come see what you’re all about.

P.S.S. Remember, clicking on “Recent Posts” or the “Continue Reading” link also gives that person an extra “hit” from you, the “visitor.” Thoughtfulness means you’re much more likely TO find interesting posts to link to, ideas to write about, products and services you need and buy, and more.

ENJOY!

Hi Latief, first thanks for dropping by! Love seeing a new face (and will return the favor in just a moment). No you won’t get rich that’s for sure lol, but as I told V, it’s combining functions that quickly adds up to a lot of exposure with a relatively small investment in time.

For me the question is, how much of this traffic becomes income? With limited time to spend on the whole promotional effort I think it is easy to sepnd to much on what are effectively traffic exchanges. Just my 2c FWIW.

Hi V – While I totally see your viewpoint, there are many out there that can’t get a blog off the ground to save their lives. Using all the marketing tools at one’s disposal – and within one’s time management allotment – means greater returns. This post just shows how when you combine many factors into one action you can cover a lot of ground “without even knowing it.”

  4. Hi Diane, Very informative post which reminds all of us that we do have a lot of marketing tools at our disposal and that the way we use them doesn’t always have to take up all of our time. Sometimes pennies add up to visiting a new blog where you leave your blogs name and drop your business card (so to speak) and then that blogger comes to your blog. And it just goes on & on. I must admit I am not signed up with CMF, but will look into it tomorrow. thanks again
