Given Eyes and A Brain For A Reason
I don’t think I’ve mentioned this before, and this is actually going to be a very short post, but for the millionth time I’ve just been visiting a “highly recommended” program’s web sales page.
The only problem is – is anyone looking CLOSELY at the “data to prove it works?”
What I’m seeing are lots of screenshots of payments allegedly from say Clickbank or Paypal or any number of merchant accounts. There’s nothing wrong with that BUT is anyone looking at the DATES?
We are in 2009. Do you know how many websites I see making large and small (but steady) claims of income, and their “proof” are screen shots going back to as early as 2006. I even saw one the other day where the website was created in 2008, had a copyright of 2007, and a paycheck “proof” dated November 2002.
It’s easy to get caught up in the hype. That’s what most of these people are counting on. Use your eyes, be picky. Pick apart every word, every declaration, every image, every video. THEN if it truly passes your test (and you’re done research out online starting with the domain lookup itself), then join.
Photoshopped or not, it would crack me up if it weren’t so frustrating. Now is not the time for the “bad guys” to take advantage of the vulnerable. I believe all governments are doing that for us. Let’s safeguard each other and only recommend the best of the best.

I didn’t think of looking at the copyright date and date of when a website was created.

Hi Connie! Yes, this is something to definitely keep in the front of your mind as you research possibilities online. Easy to do, often overlooked. And it could definitely help anyone from either being swindled or missing a great opportunity!
Good catch! I bet the marketers already knew that most eyes go right to the money column. I also wonder if they’re using “proof” that’s dated in 2002 are they also selling an old product that has been updated since then?
When it comes to looking at opportunities I think we all need to be a little more cynical.

Hi Linda! Hear! Hear! Yes, being more cautious and taking one’s time to select the right things to do, make, or promote would end up saving that person a ton of time, money, and energy. Here’s to doing one’s homework first before whipping out that wallet!

As you stated above: “Let’s safeguard each other and only recommend the best of the best.” Scammers really are on the lose on or offline, thank you so much for the warning on this type of scams.

Hi Online
Definitely they fall into the scam level, but I’m thinking there is another word or words to describe this… hmmm… you get to a web site, see all their “proof,” nothing matches, something doesn’t smell right – do you or don’t you join? The answer should be a resounding… DUH! LOL!
