Magic Eight Ball Never Lies

Okay, this is a very odd post, but one I’m going to write anyway. As a kid I grew up during the “Magic 8 Ball” era and, not surprisingly, it’s still around.

The other day at my “advanced age” I was given one as a gift. I’d like to believe that the ball is filled with mostly negative or vague answers. No matter how you shake it or how you phrase it, more often than not the answer you are hoping not to get surfaces.

So today came as no great surprise to receive a phone call that not only was my husband in a minor traffic accident (a parking garage, no one hurt), but also lost his job… again.

I’d love to blame it on the 8 ball, but experience has taught me better. Think and plan your future wisely. We only get to go through this once (that we are aware of) so make the most of it. Make wise choices be they relationships of a personal or business nature. Understand the ramifications. Understand that people, in general, do not change.

I think it’s time to revisit my own post from earlier, Setting Boundaries With The Needier People In Your Life only really, really taking it to heart. I thought I’d learned that lesson, but apparently when anything continues to haunt you, you haven’t quite mastered it yet.
