I felt so horrible that they humiliated her like that before she began singing. I’m glad everyone ate their words, but it’s terrible people had to act like that to begin with.

Oh my word! I had the same look on my face as the judges and audience did when she first walked out. I actually thought it was going to be sadly comedic. What a shock! She gave a stunning performance and I think the judges (& audience) were somewhat embarrassed by their original reactions. I know I was! FANTASTIC! Thanks for sharing!

First, thank you everyone for the visit and taking the time to comment this is wonderful. AND the comments came in so fast and furious today that I lacked the time to answer each back individually.
I agree with ALL of you! And you know what else… it reminded me of the Sound of Music at the end where the little Austrian lady comes on and just bows. Funny what thoughts it pulls in.
Her humility was so refreshing – she truly just wanted to sing in front of lots of people – hence the “I did it” as she turned to walk away.
Little could she have guessed that not just the audience in the building but the WORLD would be watching.

I thought you’d be interested in knowing that the Today Show featured Susan Boyle this morning via satellite and our local afternoon “drive home” radio show talked about her for a good 15 or 20 minutes. She sure has created a stir! You go girl!

Susan really put on a great performance, although the way it was presented made it all look too set up or ‘rigged’ for me.
Watching her, I felt as though I’d seen it all before – as though this was a repeat.
Anyway I hope she accomplishes her dream!

The comment has been made not just here but also youtube, etc., that it looked rigged or set up. I think, I’m just guessing, but I think they pulled the “oddball” out of the crowd and sort of followed her around. Could be someone was clued in ahead of time to “watch this woman!”
Whether it was or wasn’t I really don’t care. I listen to it every day – finally got the lyrics to show, too.
I wake up with this song already playing in my head.
