Revisiting An “Oldie” But Potential Goodie Social Media Linking Service

Quite a while back, when Qassia first announced itself to the social media community and internet world at large, we did a post about it.

There’s a lot more substance to this post, I swear, so click to

You might remember during that post I did “warn you” that having a thick skin is necessary. Posts, articles, off-the-cuff “intel” you provide is read and rated by other Qassia users. What you see as brilliant can receive (unfairly) grades that make you want to rant and rave, “Hey, did you really READ this or are you just voting for only your friends?!” LOL!

However, I’ve recently been reading up on it again, and Qassia does have the potential for backlink building in the search engines above and beyond our initial tests way back in March of this year.

[CAUTION: Here's where I digress a bit LOL] Why bother with search engines, does not matter? Duh, of course. Particularly for bloggers. Your site can get a tremendous amount of searches for keywords and long tail keywords you had no idea someone would type to find you.

Of course, that’s what makes blogging and starting a blog your best bet online. Particularly if you:

o Host your blog on your own domain
o Use a blogging platform ideal for spidering
o Are a social individual to begin with
o Have a passion for something, anything
o Like to visit and hobnob with others.

We love WordPress. The plugins and widgets for WordPress are seemingly endless. The tagging and categorization is second to none. And all these “done for you” (if you set up your blog correctly from the start) work to naturally get you listed in the search engines. No second guessing and endless hours of keyword research… it just happens! [End of digression.]

So once again, we’re back to testing out Qassia. With nine months under its belt, a current Google PR 5/10, and a strong traffic rank with Alexa of just over 159,000, picking up a long inactive social media site and seeing “what happens now” is an exciting experiment!

And, although I wrote this post last night, before posting it this morning, I did a Qassia search in Google. From the multitude to choose from, I picked the following:

What People Don’t Understand About Qassia
Qassia claims to be an intelligence engine. The purpose of Qassia is to collect personal information about people, companies and places, known as intel. Many people are not understanding what intel Qassia wants.

You’ll do much better in Qassia if you understand what the heck it is versus what it isn’t… ahead of time. Based on what I read this morning, I’ve had it wrong. They don’t want “information” so much as gossip, or dare I say it, junk and gibberish. This one might be a long-haul for me. Writing about what the guy next door had for breakfast might not be up my alley LOL!

However, we’ll try again. And, we’ll be watching our stats closely and sharing those results with you in the near future (typically it takes a few weeks to show up, however we have seen solid sites show up within minutes and/or days) – which we’ve talked about in past posts.

Revisiting your social community sites and retesting should always be on your agenda. It’s easy to get caught up and so busy signing up that you forget to “work the program.”

So it’s back to work at Qassia – which includes rating other people’s “intel,” too. I’ve quite a back load to look over (yikes), but again the word on the street is Qassia is backlinking well for others.

Give ‘em a try or revisit and start participating anew. And let us know YOUR results! We’d love to report ‘em!

Well, I will be interested to see the results of this test. Of course, if it is effective at getting inbound pageranked links, I might be interested – whether there is big traffic or not. So keep in touch on this!
