Other Ways And Places To Make More Marketing Headway
This past week, Janet Giacoma, a Whole Hog Blogger and extensive article writer, wrote to ask how does one add their Twitter feed to EzineArticles.com. Apparently, she’s heard through the grapevine, and has demonstrated proof from those sources, that adding (updating) your EzineArticle profile to include your other social identities can have real benefits.
Well, it could be me, but it did take some doing to locate the steps. Actually I had to finally just hold my breath and head to the EzineArticle blog, do a search for “twitter” and voila! here’s the results (quoting a bit of that forum post):
“Here’s the 6 simple steps on how to quickly add your social media links:
1. Log in to your EzineArticles membership author interface.
2. Click on PROFILE MANAGER
3. Click on EDIT AUTHOR BIO
4. Select the author (or yourself) you want to edit the profile for.
5. Look near the top/middle of the URL section immediately below the “Blog URL” box and you’ll see the new fields that you can enter your social media URL’s that will guide visitors to be able to find you.
6. Scroll down and click on the green SAVE CHANGES button & you’re done!”
So after diligently following through with the above steps, I proceeded to look around and see where oh where is my Twitter interaction actually displayed.
Turns out, it’s a link – not your full feed. On the bio page – for my example, click here.
Don’t freak, you did end up on the right page. Remember our sidebar write up? “Diane Scott” is the persona of two individuals – and that one just happens to be the first half… me
“Scott” who handles article submissions for our various marketing and advertising websites, also has a true identity (which can be revealed by, of course, clicking on the link in this paragraph). He’s still sort of anonymous only because I got ambitious and put in a photo. Don’t hold me to my picture, I’m not dumb enough to display a current one LOL!
“Diane Scott” is clever of us really, since (at least from my point of view) having an “alter ego” without needing to seek a shrink has always been appealing to me
Anyway, I digress. If you have an EzineArticles account of your own, you might want to log in and update your profile/bio area. They offer other link building such as:
LinkedIN
FaceBook
MySpace
Twitter (discussed above)
FriendFeed
When given the opportunity to spread your identity around, do it! That’s what makes all these social media communities so attractive. And every one of them, at least so far, is free to join.
