How To Make Your Ads Sell Like Crazy Free Instructions

I’ve known Denise Hall for years. To this day, she works with me over at My Wizard Ads.

Denise’s story is like many online. She started with nothing, built slowly, found her true calling, and is off and running. To this day, she works her buns off.

That’s also why today, while reading her current issue of Home Business On A Budget, the following struck me as something we all need to keep in mind.

Advertising is a necessary evil online. And, worse than that, poor advertising can put you in the poorhouse. That’s why following a few simple rules with your ads is so important.

I’ve taken the liberty of citing her “9 Killer Tips” here in this post, and I encourage you to read her ezine (after you’re through here at OIMS that is).

Denise’s instructions:

1. Use plenty of examples in your ad copy. This will allow your whole target audience to understand your pitch completely.

2. Gain extra credibility by using terms your readers may not understand, but can follow by explaining them in simple terms. This will show you’re an expert.

3. Reveal how excited you are about the product. You could use words or a picture of yourself looking very excited.

4. Tell your target audience you were in their current position. Next, tell them how your product pulled you out of that position.

5. Challenge your readers at the end of your ad. Make a bet with them – if your product doesn’t solve their problem, offer them a free product in return.

6. Get your audience involved in your ad by asking them questions. They’ll automatically want to answer the questions in their mind.

7. Start your ad with a story. It draws people right into your ad and they forget they’re being sold to. You could start with “Once upon a time…”

8. Use less than five points in your ad copy. If you start revealing too many topics, your readers might get confused and quit reading.

9. Make your target audience’s experience reading your ad positive. You could educate them or tell a joke to make them laugh.

Writing ads, be they short classifieds (ezine ads) or the longer solo ad variety is no easy task.

However, never advertising means your page just sits there unvisited, undiscovered, and not making you a single penny.

Set a budget, and a schedule, and be sure to follow your game plan.

These are great tips- I would not have thought of #2. Using words your target audience may not understand….but then explaining them. I can see how that would help position yourself as an expert or authority on a topic.

    But.
I have always found the professionals I respected the most were the ones who spoke plain English. I disagree with purposely using terms my target audience wouldn’t understand.
