The Care and Feeding of Your Ventures Online
Written by diane on August 30, 2008 – 12:43 pm -Once again another week has come and gone without a single post made to this blog. I cannot believe it - and I’m highly disappointed in myself. I have reasons - wonderful clients and customers needing personalized attention - but not posting is having an effect on the headway we’ve made on this blog.
The obvious point is when you get traffic to anything - and in this case a blog - you must sustain that traffic or watch your Alexa ranking (some indication of the volume of traffic) rise and fall with the tides.
With Linda’s huge successes, and those of our fellow Whole Hog Bloggers, we strive to also stay on track with this whole “get traffic” thing
If you don’t post at regular intervals (and often) your traffic obviously fluctuates. The reasons for this are two-fold. Read more »

The End Of The Olympics Gives Me Back My Life
Written by diane on August 24, 2008 – 10:21 am -Well, as you can see the entire week went by without a single post on this blog. The reasons are multi-fold, and I’m blaming the Olympics
While we revisit and revamp our high-end services over at Market-For-Me, assist Whole Hog Blog networkers, field marketing and advertising phone calls, and in general provide marketing assistance, the one bump in my particular road has been those prime time showings of the Olympic events.
I haven’t a clue why, but I will sit there and watch the marathoners do their thing, mile after mile. I’ve even stayed up the past two nights praying I will get a tiny morsel of “table tennis” (or as we refer to it around here “ping pong”).
In fact, pursuit of watching some Olympic-style table tennis became more than a bit of an obsession for me. I really enjoy a good game of ping pong. I figured, wow!, those Olympic players must be amazing. Read more »

And Forcedgreen Gets the Gold!
Written by diane on August 17, 2008 – 10:15 am -If ever there is a Gold Medal for blogging, Linda Rembowski of Forcedgreen would win hands down!
The August 16th edition of the WebProNews includes a quick (I don’t know what to call it… article? post? tidbit?) of information from their staff writer, David A. Utter. He writes:
The popularity contest of blogging and gaining links and traffic doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time and work.
And, of course, he’s not far off the mark. However, today we’ve got the great pleasure of taking our Sunday Fun Day to tell you about the huge success of Read more »

Where to Find Products To Promote - For Free - Newbie Affiliate Marketing Advice
Written by diane on August 15, 2008 – 3:36 pm -I need to start this post by telling you that we (Scott and myself) have been around for a LONG time. I know more about advertising and marketing online then any individual program/membership owner can ever tell you. I do this day in and day out, trying to help you make sense of what it is you are doing online - and how to get it done.
Scott, with a background long on years in affiliate marketing, is also an expert when it comes to marketing, advertising, and promoting online. We teamed up a few years back, (the best move either of us ever made!) and provide several online business resources tailored specifically to help you be successful online, too.
Each and every thing we do - whether planned that way or not - revolves around helping others be as successful as possible online (with offline ideas thrown in for good measure).
With that bit of hoopla and flag waving out of the way, today we’d like to help anyone who’s stuck in what can be a vicious, yet unnecessary, cycle… Read more »

Rats No Joy Testing Traffic Potential Software For Website (Not Blog) Owners
Written by diane on August 10, 2008 – 10:50 am -On our last post I let you know I had purchased a software script that had the hallmarks of bringing traffic for those not blogging, but with full access to a website domain.
With high hopes, we installed the script exactly as indicated, and yes it did install. Logging in and looking around went very smoothly.
However, Read more »

How to Stop Waiting For Your Money Ship To Come In And Go After It Yourself
Written by diane on August 7, 2008 – 10:29 am -Very late last night I received an email over at My Wizard Ads from a gentleman wanting to know if he was wasting his time online. He wasn’t questioning the MWA services, but his whole perception on trying to make money online in general.
Of course I emailed him back and forth several times. I’m afraid I climbed on my soapbox and did my thing (which he did appreciate). The crux of the making-money dilemma is something I will cover in the next post (I promise!) and present solutions to that problem.
In the meantime though, I want to take a moment and show you a shortcut to making money - under your own steam, without relying on anyone or anything else online.
After proving to ourselves, for ourselves, that a person can make money writing online, I set off on a journey to uncover a resource that could shave years off the learning curve. A way to step up to the plate much faster in the field of writing - any kind of writing - online.
With income potentials of $85,000 or more per year, this is hardly something you will want to poo-poo out of turn without researching!
I’m happy to report I found such a resource - and Read more »

SocialSpark Test Continues With Great Results We Make More Money
Written by diane on August 5, 2008 – 9:08 pm -A while back (June 16th to be exact) we did a post about SocialSpark, a program for bloggers and a way for you to make money online. In addition, of course, SocialSpark is set up to take on advertisers needing promotions.
That reiterated, at the time I opted for an “opportunity” that paid us $5.50. If you remember, it was a promo for SocialSpark itself, and something I was going to write about anyway.
How great was that
So, the other day I logged into SocialSpark again, and they had such a worthwhile cause. An opportunity to bring the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk to everyone’s attention. This organization is looking for volunteers to coordinate their Fall walks to raise awareness and money.
That opportunity was worth Read more »

Marketing Just Got A Whole Lot Easier If You Are Careful
Written by diane on August 3, 2008 – 8:26 am - For anyone in the Entrecard system, you should have received an email sometime in the past 12 hours notifying you of their new toolbar. This new toolbar makes surfing your favorite Entrecard categories and blogs so much easier! It truly is a dream come true
However, a word of caution. Surfing faster is always great, but neglecting to use any marketing tool properly can be your downfall.
The Entrecard Firefox-only toolbar is an easy install and even easier activation. Once you’ve followed the instructions, presented here:
To download the EntreBar, visit this page:
http://entrecard.com/page/ec_toolbar
be sure to also take the time to read all about the various features of your new toolbar here:
http://entrecard.com/blog/?p=493
Yes it is wonderful, and yes we are thrilled, they’ve done an excellent job!
But here’s the “other shoe” that I’m sure you will want to read, it really will help you help yourself. Read more »

A Memory Walk With A Purpose
Written by diane on August 2, 2008 – 9:06 am -Saturdays and Sundays typically mean we get to stretch our legs and post things outside the fields of social media marketing.
Today is one of those days
Let’s face it, one of the most valuable things each of us has is our memories, be they great ones or one’s we’d rather not think about (even those serve a purpose to remind us what not to do in the future).
But a devastating fact is that Alzheimer’s is a disease that strikes many, wiping all memories and impacting families.
The Alzheimer’s Association would like to make us all aware of the fact that raising awareness and money for research should be upper most in all of our minds.
The Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for research.
They are looking for volunteers of all ages to “become champions in the fight against Alzheimer’s.” With more than 600 walks in communities across the country, a typical walk is 2-3 miles. They hold these walks on weekend mornings in the fall.
You, too, can volunteer to “walk with a purpose” just click on the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk link featured above for more information.
