Lather Up and Scour The Net
Tonight, just about the time I’m thinking it’s time to call it a day, a friend from the Firestorm Forum recommended we take a look at Scour.
Though “new” it already has an Alexa ranking of just over 36,000 - and whether you follow Alexa or not it does show proof that other people are aware it exists
So what’s so great about Scour?
Our top priority is “what do we get out of it” (not greedy, just common business sense). Mostly we like to see our efforts reflected in increased visitors and lots of new attention from search engine spiders and bots. Building up those wonderful links online is something we are deadly serious about…
So, will Scour do that? The answer is… I haven’t a clue LOL!
We just signed up tonight, so the test phase begins.
However, signing up was painless, super fast, and free.
And they have a potential bonus in store for you if you should decide to click here and sign up, too.
(Won’t tell you what exactly, but there is “potential” money involved. I say potential because let’s face it we don’t know yet.)
However, here’s a bit to wet your possible appreciation taken from their FAQ:
How do I earn points?
You can earn points from your own actions as well and from inviting friends.
You earn the following number of points for each action:
* 1 = Search
* 2 = Vote
* 3 = Comment
And yes, as the points accumulate they can be traded in for…
Ah, but now you’ll have to click through to find out. As always, everything (or darn near everything) on this blog opens in a new window so feel free, we’ll wait….
Back already? I told you it was fast!
Now we’ll all wait and see where this “new” social search engine takes us.
* * * * * * * * * *
HOLD ON! You weren’t leaving yet were you? Leave a comment! It’s free marketing for yourself and your site, duh LOL!

I just recently noticed some traffic coming in on my personal site from scour - and hadn’t gotten far enough to look it up! Thanks for a reminder!

@Online - thanks for your comments. We like to fairly represent all possibilities along with our tested, tried and true methods for marketing. This could turn out to be one of those “hmmmm….” ones or something interesting. Time will tell

I tried 3 times to join Scour. I completed the required information and got down to the join button and nothing happened after waiting about 5 minutes. I tried 2 more times with no success and finally sent a support ticket. It does look interesting.

@Terri - just throwing this out there, but are your using Firefox or IE? I’ve found Firefox is much more amenable to signing up (and doing) the social media programs out there. If you are, then keep trying. Let me know how quickly their support responds. That’s always a good indication of a program, too

Didn’t get a response to my support request, but I did try to join and it worked perfectly and very quickly.
