@Talen – I think you’ve missed the boat. This is a way to take those wonderful articles you write for your blog and bookmark in a setting that is guaranteed to be picked up by the search engines. In terms of traffic that you want, I would say that a keyword specific search in say Google, that lands someone on our blog is pretty darn targeted

Every day some new social program comes out and to be honest it’s hard to keep up with them all and honestly I don’t find any of them important because for the most part they aren’t bringing the kind of traffic we all want.

I guarantee that regular consistent posting of quality articles to your blog will do more in the long run and bring in the people who will stay.

@psycheskinner in terms of creating links in the search engines, why wouldn’t you give it a go? It’s fast, you do it right after you make your post so it’s painless and it works. Our blog started February 3 has (as of today on the west coast) 15,000 links in google – and jumptags and places like spicypage are definitely in the running for getting that linking. Plus lots of wonderful indented links. Our blogstats show all sorts of search terms we don’t specifically target, bringing us visitors through the search engines. For us, and not everyone we understand, this is a no brainer.

@Capy – you are most welcome – now watch for those sought-after indented links. It takes a bit of time but not that much time for Jumptags to really kick in.

@Marc – being new it’s great to start right out the gate with linking that works – naturally!

To everyone, be sure to go through your back posts and bookmark them, too. If you have a lot of time (relatively speaking) do bookmark each individual post by clicking on that posts and bookmarking that specific url (every one).

Hi Diane, thanks for bringing this up. I’m fairly new in the blogging community and ideas like this makes me more interested on the learning part of blogging.

To be honest it’s a hard way up but like what they say, aim for the moon and atleast you’ll be at level with stars

@Katherine – I think “soon everyone will be doing this” is more like “everyone is doing this” but I see it in a more positive light. Before, traditionally, SEO for websites was (and still is) the huge “thing to do.” That’s because when methods work to bring traffic, people wishing to have their sites seen, will do what works

It seems to me that the use of all these social networks to increase the traffic to your blog, when everyone else is doing it, is a bit of a self fulfilling process. Soon everyone will be doing this, and another method will come out to be one step ahead and build your web presence another way.
