How A Talented Individual Developed a Way To Send You Traffic For Free
This morning we’d like to bring to your attention a service website called Twitturly.
You’ll appreciate this even more when we tell you that other than having a Twitter account and posting (and twitting if you don’t blog), you do nothing, yet it still has the potential to send traffic to your website and/or blog - how great is that?!
According to our blog stats, Twitterurly has sent us 23 visitors “sight unseen” in the last 24 hours. In other words, just the mere act of posting a new post (like this one), along with (for us and the Whole Hog Blogs network people) the auto-posting Wordpress plugin we use to update Twitter, we have received 23 visitors to our blog who may not have found us any other way. Thanks to Twitterurly! (And we did not even know they existed LOL!)
[July 31st, 3:59 p.m. Update - 43 visitors so far!]

A screenshot from Twitterurly showing the number of Tweets and URLs Twitturly has processed over the last 14 days
When you click through to check out what we are talking about, you’ll notice right away the little button beside each broadcast post. It lists the number of active tweets for that individual Twitter account. It does appear to list “active tweets” starting with the most and heading downward.
Twitterurly is not affiliated with Twitter. It’s actually the brainchild of a Twitter user by the name of J Strellner (that’s this person’s direct Twitter account, and if you’d like to follow along with us here at Online Internet Marketing Strategies, our Twitter username is “oims” and you can reach us here Twitter.com/oims - just log in and click on the “Follow” tag at the top).
Now you might be saying to yourself “23 visitors? What are they so excited about - enough to make a whole post about this other website? Are they nuts??!”
The answer is simple. Since we did NOTHING other than create a Twitter account, and install the Wordpress plugin that alerts our Twitter account that we have made a new post, 23 people found that post referenced on Twitterurly - an update service sitting outside the Twitter box itself - and ended up here.
Twenty three people who came without us having to “go out of our way” to find them.
And, might I add… it did not cost us a dime to get those 23 visitors. Yep, that wonderful phrase… “free traffic!”
We expect now that this referrer has started to show up in our stats that it will continue - as long as we continue to make our posts of course.
So even if you’re not into hanging out in a Twitter account all day, you can still take advantage of the auto-posting plugin for Wordpress, and give it a whirl.
It should be noted that Twitter will, of course, also work for non-blog websites. However, you will need a more hands on approach to really get the most from your Twitter account. Meaning, those without Wordpress blogs (there may be plugins for the other blog platforms, we do not know) to do your auto-posting, you’ll need to Tweet manually throughout the day yourself.
Which brings us full circle to once again remind you that we are here to help!
All you need do is head over to Whole Hog Blogs and see how

@JMom - the great thing is you just need to use Twitter and post (perhaps often!) and it will pick you up naturely - that’s what it looks like at the moment.
@Janet - all for time saving, you know me LOL!
@Brad - you are most welcome!

So, Diane, is there anything additional for those of us who already have Twitter accounts to do?
Or am I correct in assuming that Twitterurly is doing its thing for me by virtue of the fact that I’m a Twitter user?

Will look in to it for sure.
