How A Talented Individual Developed a Way To Send You Traffic For Free
Written by diane on July 31, 2008 – 8:04 am -This morning we’d like to bring to your attention a service website called Twitturly.
You’ll appreciate this even more when we tell you that other than having a Twitter account and posting (and twitting if you don’t blog), you do nothing, yet it still has the potential to send traffic to your website and/or blog - how great is that?!
According to our blog stats, Twitterurly has sent us Read more »

A Video That Speaks Volumes About Life
Written by diane on July 30, 2008 – 1:01 pm -I didn’t know what to expect today hanging out over at the Firestorm forum, but when I came across this post at Julies Journal I just had to post it here for you to play.
As Julie warned me ahead of time, tissues may be in order (they were for me). Of course no one is advocating doing what these people did, but lets face it, Read more »

Lather Up and Scour The Net
Written by diane on July 28, 2008 – 7:30 pm -Tonight, just about the time I’m thinking it’s time to call it a day, a friend from the Firestorm Forum recommended we take a look at Scour.
Though “new” it already has an Alexa ranking of just over 36,000 - and whether you follow Alexa or not it does show proof that other people are aware it exists
So what’s so great about Scour?
Our top priority is “what do we get out of it” (not greedy, just common business sense). Mostly we like to see our efforts reflected in increased visitors and lots of new attention from search engine spiders and bots. Building up those wonderful links online is something we are deadly serious about…
So, will Scour do that? The answer is… Read more »

It was on that site that I found listed along the sidebar, Read more »

Thinking Of Keeping This to Ourselves It’s That Good!
Written by diane on July 25, 2008 – 7:11 pm -Welcome to the beginning of hopefully a wonderful weekend for everyone!
I’ve had a small file of things to blog about going for the past several days, but always find there is one more thing to do before I can get to doing what I love to do… write!
But, there is a lull in the storm, so I’m picking something that I should have blogged about a long time ago. However, if truth be told, I’ve been greedy and keeping it to myself LOL! Read more »

Have You Plurked Today? (And Celebrating Our 100th Post!)
Written by diane on July 21, 2008 – 7:46 pm -The world is full of ingenious people, and those that bring these geniuses to our attention. Tonight is no exception when I came across first Rockfuse, and then followed that post on to The Sleepy Geek. Both blogs are talking about a new Wordpress post updater called (no surprise here), the Plurk updater.
So what in the world is Plurk?
To start you off, here’s a screenshot, Read more »

Peace of Mind For Those Software Downloads You Just Have To Have
Written by diane on July 20, 2008 – 9:43 am -This morning, catching up (I write that phrase a lot!), a new friend of ours over at blogcatalog has a post that caught my attention.
If you’re like us, getting good software is always a treat. However, more often than not, we are guilty of not reading the fine print as the thing is installing. I guess we just hope for the best, keep our fingers crossed, and go for it - especially if we really, really want to test it out.
But, there is that “agreement” you make as you Read more »

Written by diane on July 19, 2008 – 10:58 am -So they came! Hooray! But are they staying?
Today’s discussion is about how to encourage people to dig deeper on your website and/or blog to get at the truth, value, potential of what you have to offer.
Website owners have the ability to quickly move us around their pages with simple click on links and a bit of code (shown below).

Resource Often Overlooked By Bloggers To Build Their Subscriber Lists
Written by diane on July 18, 2008 – 12:34 pm -Today’s resource is one that few bloggers think about when it comes to building their lists. The reason may be that not all co-ops except blogs, but My Wizard Ads is the exception to the rule.
When you have content worth sharing, and the ability to add new subscribers to your list yourself (even if the system kicks out that double opt-in request, that’s okay!), then you may be overlooking a resource specifically designed to get you new readers!
People flock to ezine advertising co-ops after joining programs or starting new websites. Most do not have their own list, or are looking to add to a list, or just need traffic. Sounds like all of us, right?
By providing a page on your blog where you display their classified for a set period of time determined by you, you also gain a new subscriber! How easy is that?!
Here’s our example of classified ads, because, of course, we belong to the My Wizard Ads co-op (okay more than belong
).
What we did was create an HTML page, and then use our feedburner feed to upload the information. Or you can just create a regular “PAGE” on your blog and edit and add to that. It’s really very simple.
By providing others a place on your blog - not even the main page mind you - you are doing a “community service” so to speak and increasing your mailing list.
Stop on by and read all about how to build your mailing list through the simple process of working with a great co-op!
Thanks for reading, and we hope to see you soon!

No More Excuses Now Your Comments Mean Real “Cash” Credits
Written by diane on July 16, 2008 – 12:06 pm -By now you know how much we harp on commenting on blogs. Not only is it easy to do, but it’s absolutely, positively the best free form of marketing for yourself and your website - and a great way to gain a backlink (in most cases) in the search engines to your website link.
And now, especially for bloggers, there’s no reason not to… if you’re a member of Entrecard.
Entrecard and SezWho (a comment rating system) have joined forces to not only encourage your comments, but reward you for your efforts.
Here’s an excellent post that outlines the details (why reinvent the wheel?):
Top 10 Reasons Why Entrecard-SezWho Partnership Is Important For Bloggers
Frankly, we love comments and we love commenting - and we love free marketing!
And, for all you affiliate marketers and website owners without a blog, don’t think that commenting isn’t for you, too! Commenting can be incredibly lucrative - both in short and long term internet marketing and search engine linking… (and did we mention it’s free!).
Let’s face it, people pay big bucks to purchase a spot on websites and blogs. But commenting is FREE and gets you the same - actually even better - results! You get to pick and choose. Your comment remains on the blog forever. And no one will disconnect your link at a whim (or if you stop paying).
Of course the idea is to provide insight or feedback or a pat on the back to the blogger. Or to (kindly) dissent when appropriate. Your quality comments get you visitors to your website.
People are curious animals and a good comment always makes me click through to see what’s on the other end. Visitors that didn’t cost you a dime, just a bit of time.
And, if you use Firefox (we’re partial to Firefox), and have the Alexa addon, you’ve got the perfect tool to check for traffic ranks on the blogs you stop on and comment on (keep in mind it’s just a tool, who’s to say where your next client or customer might come from?).
So… Why purchase them, when commenting provides a natural (organic!) link for yourself on quality blogs?
It really is a no brainer.

The Internet Has No Secrets (Traffic or Otherwise) - Or - When To Stop Buying Into Things And Just Do It
Written by diane on July 15, 2008 – 10:47 am -NOTE: Before you get going, the title of this post is “secrets” not “methods.” People come up with all sorts of new ways of doing things, and open all sorts of new social media areas, and we give credit where credit is do. But they aren’t “secrets.”

For years, and I do mean years, we’ve been online explaining, demonstrating, and, in many instances, doing the hands-on work to help you be successful online.
And, throughout these years, we - like you - have been (and continue to be) inundated with special reports, new software, e-books, videos and more all ranting and raving how this is “the one.”
Rarely is anything “new.”
Let me explain by example before I continue:
Ten years ago, a script was developed that Read more »

What To Do When All Your Marketing Falls Flat On Its Face
Written by diane on July 11, 2008 – 10:08 am -One of the things a person must have control over in order to make money online is the landing page for what they are promoting. When you join an affiliate program you need to keep in mind that everyone is using the same page. Nothing unique there. And, maybe, just maybe, the landing page you’re sending people to just isn’t doing its job.
To add to your potential misery, Read more »

What Were You Doing When The $135 Offer Was On the Table?
Written by diane on July 10, 2008 – 8:19 pm -Yesterday, while Entrecarding it, I came across Michael’s So-Called Life.
And… his July 8th post most certainly caught my attention
We’ve talked here on this blog (and will continue to talk) about various ways to make money as a blogger (see our numerous postings in search form here). We even spoke about our testing of SocialSpark and getting paid to write.
And, not to leave website owners out, we’ve covered ways to make money that rely on your skills not your ability to talk “Aunt Sally” (remember her?) into buying into that next “hot program”
So it wasn’t surprising that the universe provided us with the perfect outside source - Michael - who also was talking about writing for money, AND giving us specific examples of just HOW MUCH MONEY (for him). Read more »

Jumping Back to Jumptags For A Real Boost in Backlinking
Written by diane on July 7, 2008 – 12:44 pm -Four prior posts, to date, have discussed the advantages of using Jumptags as a social book marking tool for your website and/or blog.
These posts have included proof that just taking a few seconds of your time each time you make a post - or even add a new page to your website - to log into your Jumptags account means multiple links in the search engines extremely quickly (we’ve even got pictures).
So why am I returning today to talk once again about the beauty of back link building with this social media strategy?
First, because Read more »
