Taking SpicyPage Whamx Jumptags and More to the Next Level
Special Notice: Our favorite Entrecard is currently offline due to a fire where their servers are housed. They are working to get back online quickly and we wish them godspeed! Now on to today’s post…
After almost 36 hours of debugging our wordpress theme only to discover the archives had gone missing due to incomplete data in our HeadSpace plugin, it’s time to explore other ways to take the services and websites you may (should) be using to the next level.
If you’ve read our earlier posts about SpicyPage, WhamX, and Jumptags (we have talked about more, but these three will suffice), and applied what we’ve written (signed up and started using them), we’re positive you’ve already seen backlinking to your website or blog in the search engines.
However, I’m amazed as I log into these programs how so many people are missing the boat when it comes to using these marketing tools.
What I’m discovering is most people signup for an account, get their website or blog listed, and leave it at that – thus missing out on the huge link building possibilities to these heavily trafficked sites. People love them, and so do the search engines.
Here are some screenshots to emphasize our point:

What you do is add your posts! Each of these services above allow you to add your individuals posts and/or articles. What you do NOT do is just link to the index page of your blog or website. You will want the TRUE url to the post itself. To make sure you use the true url, just click your own title and copy the link in the address bar on your browser.
The beauty is other people get to find your stuff easier, and you get the benefit of deep linking into your site or blog.
As a side note – remember to do the same thing with StumbleUpon. It is perfectly acceptable for you to post your own posts. How else is anyone going to see them on Stumbleupon if you don’t put them there initially yourself. Our blog stats show lots of visitors finding our blog because of this – and other people adding their thumbs up to the voting
The way to truly impress yourself is to go to Google, Yahoo! and a few of the other major players when it comes to search engines (or get a great backlink checker, most don’t work, but you might get lucky), and do a search for your own url. Get a feel for how many links there are to your site. Then try using these resources to their fullest. Check your links again in a week or two (sometimes just days!) and see what a difference this makes

Hi guys,
As usual, some great information!
Like I didn’t already have enough to do tomorrow
Thanks!
Carole
LOL Carole! Actually if your site is a blog, and you use tags like HeadSpace, just be on the page and have the service in a new window. This way you can jump back and forth and more or less copy the given information in quickly. I usually try to grab a decent paragraph from the post that entices and represents what the title is about… just my way of doing it.
Enjoy the backlinks!
