How One Thing Takes A Back Seat For Another – Blog Stats Hunting

I’ll have to pull today’s post idea (it’s already written lol!) and make that one tomorrow, because this is just too good not to pass along to you right now.

As many know, WordPress is right up there at the top when it comes to choosing a proper blogging platform. While they have a freely hosted version, we’re firm believers in putting things on your own domain and handling the job yourself.

With that in mind, one of the great things about WordPress is your ability to widgetize and plugin to your heart’s content. Scott and I are a tad on the fantatical side, we just can’t help ourselves. It’s an obession LOL!

So you’ll know why I was totally excited when, doing a hunt for a blog stats plugin, I came across Lorelle on WordPress.

This isn’t the first time her returned results in Google caught our eye, but this is the first time I remember finding a page so stocked with stats plugins, and great reviews (recommendations) for what does what, that if I’m not careful I’ll be spending the entire day there – and get nothing else done :)

Why am I hunting for more stats you ask (okay maybe you didn’t, but if you do)? Because while many of us at Whole-Hog-Blogs are using an excellent program called – funny enough – “BlogStats” – it’s not working properly on everyone’s blog. Hence the hunt!

Our guess is that some wordpress blog themes just don’t translate well for all plugins. In other words, while plugins are universal, templates might be more “local” and not conducive to some widgets and plugins. But, never fear, if you do your research, the beauty is someone somewhere probably has your solution.

Now all we have to do is rein ourselves in a bit and stay on track with our current hunt.

The problem is being plugin-happy, we can’t let ourselves get sidetrack. (Okay, maybe a LITTLE sidetracked LOL!)

Enjoy Lorelle’s site – and try to get some work done today, okay? :)

It is always good to know that I’m making some kind of difference. That is why I write this blog. If I can reach just one person with the information I relay on my site then I’ve done my job!!! Thank you for taking the time to read and comment. Be well and yes stop using plastic bottles! I have a glass bottle that I reuse. So much safer.

Hi Eco mama! First, thank you for the visiting and taking the time to comment. Always appreciated! And in case anyone is wondering, I visited Eco’s blog and this is a comment based on what I said somewhere else :)

Nothing at all to do with our original post, so don’t be confused :)

  3. Hi Diane,

Thanks for dropping by my blog and comment. Regarding your hunt for a reliable source of stats, I’m not happy with the one I’m using right now. I am ready to use Google Analytics, but I’ll take a look at Lorelle’s blog to see what can I find there.

    Best Wishes
    Anthony

@Anthony thank you for the visit right back and the comments. We love comments!

We’re using the BlogStats plugin along with Google Analytics and a few other things. We’re sort of stats happy around here LOL!

You’re sure to find someone at Lorelle’s. That page was packed! Happy hunting!
